Airborne OSH24 Day 1 Redux: Pelton, Bede Reborn, DeltaHawk Roars, Risen!!!

07.22.24: Piper Aircraft Takes Over, VAA Youth Building, Pelton Int'vw - Part 1

Editor's Note: While the ANN crew works its way home, remembers (or tries to) their names, and reacquaints themselves with their families, we will be re-presenting the outstanding week of Oshkosh coverage we presented for AirVenture 2024... we'll be back on a regular schedule next week. Enjoy! It was a heck of a week!

Jack Pelton has been leading EAA for more than a few years and is looking forward to at least three more... but his plans for AV2024 and his outlook on aviation's greatest aero-love fest show promise for an amazing event.

Among Jim Bede’s many designs, none was more successful or proven than the BD-4... now a new generation of offerings surrounding the BD-4C offer incredible value and the chance to get yourself a rugged, 4 seater that makes no excuses. They flew all the way across the Atlantic in a Rotax-powered Risen... burning only 42 gallons... and now we get a look at what could be the coolest aircraft at AirVenture. It's been years since we’ve seen a new AMERICAN powerplant…. Much less one that takes advantage of truly MODERN technology… but DeltaHawk is readying for production and has a number of OEMs drooling over the prospect of a Jet A powered GA mill. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!

Airborne's Oshkosh Day 1, 07.22.24, is chock full of info in this Daily News Episode, Monday, July 22nd, 2024... Presented by Aero-TV veteran videographer and Airborne Host Holland Lee. Holland is supported by ANN Chief Videographer Nathan Cremisino, as well as Patrick Bottinelli, Tom Butler and ANN CEO/Editor-In-Chief Jim Campbell. This episode covers:

  • Jack Pelton Opening Remarks

  • Piper Aircraft Takes Over with M700 and New Trainers
