NBAA Is 'On It': Fights Two Onerous Congressional Proposals for BizAv Operators

What NBAA Is Doing, and How Members Can Help

As Congress returns from its July 4 recess, lawmakers will renew consideration of a highway spending bill that mostly addresses roadway improvements, but also contains two burdensome proposals for the business aviation community. The first would alter procedures for payment of federal taxes on jet fuel; the second would limit deductibility of entertainment expenses for business aircraft.

The proposals are a central concern for the business aviation community, and NBAA is advocating strongly for their removal. NBAA also has prepared a letter for Members to send to their federal representatives to ask that Congress oppose the Highway Bill language. The letter was first made available to Members two weeks ago, and the response since then has been impressive.

"My thanks to the NBAA Members who have already sent the letter we provided to help voice our concerns before Congress on the onerous Highway Bill proposals," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

"I urge those who have not yet sent the letter to take advantage of this effective resource and add their voices to our advocacy efforts in Washington," Bolen said.
