Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants To Vote On New Agreement

Balloting To Take Place From October 16 - 31

Southwest Airlines Co. has announced that the Executive Board of Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 556, the Union that represents our Flight Attendants, has voted to put the Tentative Agreement (TA) out to Southwest Flight Attendants for a ratification vote.

The Union will share the terms of the agreement with its members, as well as information about the voting process.

"I'm pleased that our Flight Attendants will have the opportunity to review and vote on this Tentative Agreement," said Sonya Lacore, Vice President Cabin Services. "The Southwest and TWU 556 Negotiating Teams worked diligently to reach an agreement intended to immediately reward and recognize the more than 14,500 Flight Attendants that contribute to the success of Southwest Airlines."

The Dallas Business Journal reports that the flight attendants will vote on the contract between October 16 and October 31. In an email to its the flight attendants, the TWU said that the agreement is straightforward, and "rewards your contributions as a Southwest Airlines flight attendant to the company’s success.”

The Southwest Pilots Association reached a similar contract agreement last week.
