Heliport Evaluation Course Offered At Verticon 2025

Early-Bird Pricing Available Until January 17th

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) in conjunction with the Vertical Aviation International’s (VAI) Verticon 2025 will be offering a course on how to evaluate proposed or existing heliport facilities, in which participants will earn a U.S. DOT Certificate of Training upon completion.

The three-day course, titled “Heliport Planning and Evaluation” will provide attendees with an understanding of the evaluation process and the skills necessary to complete the evaluation of heliports. It will be taught by Pilots and FAA Inspectors experienced in heliport operations and evaluations.

The course includes both classroom lectures and hands-on practical exercises. There will be a detailed review of evaluation criteria, worksheets, admin tools available to the inspector, preparation of the evaluation report, and hands-on training in using the tools in the typical evaluation. Students are encouraged to bring their own GPS, range finder, and inclinometer if they have them.

The course will be held in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, from March 7-9, 2025. The course normally costs $1,855.00 at the TSI classrooms in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but is being offered at a significant discount at Verticon.

Early bird pricing at Verticon is available until January 17, 2025, at $725 for VAI members and $875 for non-members. After that, the price will be $800 for VAI members and $955 for non-members.
