Boeing To Highlight Innovative Capabilities For USAF At AFA Technology Expo

Will Feature Aircraft, Weapons, Communications Systems

Boeing will showcase capabilities that meet the needs of the U.S. Air Force during the Air Force Association's Air and Space Conference & Technology Exposition, held Sept. 16-18 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland.

"This event is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate Boeing's expertise in delivering more capability at less cost to the U.S. Air Force and the nation’s allies," said Jack Catton, Boeing Government Operations' vice president of Combat Air Force Systems.

Boeing's exhibit will feature models and videos of the company's wide range of aircraft, precision weapon and satellite solutions, including the KC-46A tanker,  F-15 fighter, Laser Small Diameter Bomb, X-51A WaveRider, Phantom Eye, CV-22 tiltrotor aircraft and Wideband Global SATCOM satellite.

During the Air Force Anniversary dinner on Sept. 18, Boeing, the Air Force Research Laboratory and Aerojet Rocketdyne will receive the 2013 John R. Alison Award for outstanding contributions by industrial leadership in national defense. The award recognizes the technical excellence of the team that completed the historic air-breathing hypersonic accomplishments of the X-51A WaveRider program.

Also during the event, Boeing will make a donation to the Air Force Association's Wounded Airman Program, which supports those wounded in action who are facing challenges as they return home.
