Appareo To Be Acquired by AGCO

Agriculture Corporation Says Team, Operations to Stay in Fargo, ND

Appareo is reportedly in the process of being acquired. AGCO, an agricultural equipment company, has signaled its intent to add the manufacturer of off-grid aviation equipment to its portfolio of gear providers.

They reportedly agreed to the acquisition because of the firm's engineering and manufacturing capabilities, seeing value in their know-how and development expertise.

Appareo's aeronautical portfolio includes flight data recorders, monitoring recorders, imaging systems, aircraft communication units, speech recognition units, and the popular GA Stratus product line. Their agricultural and defense  equipment follows the same vein, with load monitoring for the forest service's firefighting equipment and inertial navigation equipment for the USAF. Their more high-profile work in recent years have included artificial intelligence to bridge capability shortfalls for software in-air, aiding in the automated retention of communications.

Their ATC transcription equipment can complete real-time translation of incoming audio without internet/cloud connectivity, completing its operations entirely onboard the aircraft. AGCO has said it intends to retain the Appareo team as-is, keeping their operations in their Fargo, North Dakota and Paris, France. The

"Appareo has developed a world-class organization with exceptional capabilities to solve highly complex customer problems in emerging technology areas,” said Eric Hansotia, AGCO’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We see Appareo as a great addition to support delivering high quality, smart solutions to our farmers to maximize both their user experience and profitability. The addition of Appareo enhances our portfolio and talent as we execute our strategy to provide advanced technology solutions to farmers around the world.”
