Diamond Reassures Customers Following Restructuring Announcement

Most Workforce Cuts Coming From D-Jet Program

In a letter sent to Diamond Aircraft owners, operators, service centers, and distributors, president and CEO Peter Maurer said that the recent restructuring of the Canadian division of Diamond Aircraft Industries "will not impact our ability to meet our ongoing commitments to you."

Maurer said that while the company has made "significant reductions to our workforce," that many of those cuts have come from the D-Jet program. "(W)e have retained the personnel required to continue our operations," Maurer said.

Among those operations to be sustained are:

  • Production and delivery of the DA20, DA40, and DA42 piston aircraft
  • Production of support parts for all models
  • Customer support technical services and continuing airworthiness support
  • Warranty and premium care services
  • Maintenance training
  • On-site customer support services
  • New aircraft sales

"The most significant impact of the workforce reduction on the piston aircraft business is that due to a reduced production rate to match firm orders, we may experience longer than usual delivery times for new aircraft," Maurer wrote. "We expect to deliver all other services to you without any disruptions and at our usual high standard of quality."
