GA Advocates Headline NBAA Media Breakfast

U.S. House Reps. Graves and Larsen To Highlight BACE Kickoff Event

U.S. House Representatives Sam Graves (R-6-MO) and Rick Larsen (D-2-WA), Chair and Ranking Member, respectively, of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will attend a special Media Kickoff Breakfast prior to the start of the 2024 National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).

NBAA announced that the two, strong advocates for GA in Congress, will join NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen and Pete Bunce, President and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) at the event to praise the bipartisan passage of the historic FAA Reauthorization Act signed into law in May of this year. Graves and Larsen were key members in getting congressional approval of the legislation, which for the first time ever, contains a title for GA highlighting the critical role it plays in American industry.

Graves, a longtime pilot, represents a rural district that depends on GA for economic development, health care, and other services. He has supported numerous bills to foster the growth of GA. More than 150 aerospace manufacturers and suppliers are in Larsen’s northern Washington state district, and he has likewise supported a number of bills promoting the industry and building the nation's next generation of aerospace workers.

Acknowledging their staunch support for the bill, Bolen commented, “Reps. Graves and Larsen are tireless, effective advocates for general aviation, and we look forward to hearing their perspectives on how the FAA reauthorization bill supports the industry and ensures the agency is able to meet the agency’s needs in a rapidly changing landscape.”
