Report Notes Key Players In UAV Training And Simulation Market

Unmanned Aircraft Growing As A Tool For Business And Defense

A new study has identified the key players in the Global UAV Flight Training & Simulation Market through 2019.

The names won't surprise you. CAE, Israel Aerospace Industries, L-3 Link Simulation and Training, Selex ES and Simlat have been noted as being the furthest along in providing training for UAV operators by ASDReports. Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, Textron Systems and Thales Training and Simulation.

According to an ASDReports analyst, synthetic vision technology provides pilots a 3D understanding of their flying environment through computer-mediated reality systems. These systems offer numerous benefits in UAV missions. They enable the pilot to utilize the UAV’s nose and gimbal cameras to get a clear view of runway operations, identify potential obstructions and navigational landmarks, and scan for other air traffic on the specified route. These key characteristics will enable the pilot to perform intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions and support on-combat operations.

According to the report, electric UAVs are increasingly being utilized in the defense and commercial industry because of their wide applications. Traditionally, UAVs are powered by internal combustion engines to perform tactical missions. However, the introduction of electric-motor-driven UAVs has enabled the military to perform spy missions, as these UAVs are quiet and cost effective. These UAVs can also be used in commercial applications like aerial photography, 3D mapping, wildlife protection, and agriculture.

Further, the report states that users remotely control UAVs through communication systems. These systems are useful in air traffic communications, vehicle control, and monitoring. However, these are vulnerable to hacking and jamming.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
