Another Oshkosh Sneak Peek: MX2 Aerobat To Be Unveiled

MXR Technologies Announces Signing of Full Factory Competition Pilot for MX2 Aircraft

MXR Technologies has announced that its MX2 achieved a first place finish at the first ever aerobatic hover off competition at the 2005 51st Sebring Aerobatic Competition. The firm also revealed that it is the first ever aerobatic company to sign a full factory competition pilot.

During competition, the MX2 was piloted by former US Unlimited Aerobatic Team Member Alan Bush. Bush placed first in the hover off and also placed 2nd in the unlimited aerobatic category. This was his first time ever competing in the MX2. Bush said "the MX2 outperforms even its single place rivals. At 380hp and 1280lbs MX2's thrust to weight ratio gives it the best vertical penetration of any aerobatic plane. In fact, with over 3,500 feet of vertical penetration it is the only competition machine that will put you in jeopardy of flying out the top of the aerobatic box from the floor! The roll rate had to be tuned down to just over 400 degrees per second to compensate for human reaction time."

Chris Meyer CEO, further explained "the MX2 aerobatic aircraft is an all carbon fiber two place Unlimited aerobatic plane with performance and maneuverability that has never before been available in a two place aerobatic airplane."

He went on to say "the airframe of the MX2 is built entirely of a pre-impregnated epoxy carbon fiber composite purchased from one of the world's leading manufacturers of aerospace grade materials. Adhesives used throughout the plane are also of the same aerospace quality. Combinations of these materials coupled with experienced and knowledgeable assembly technicians as well as one of the most complete sets of aircraft tooling anywhere assures that the airframe is built with the highest standards in place in the experimental composite aircraft industry today."

The company also announced that it is the first aerobatic company to sign a full factory competition pilot. This summer MXR will deliver an MX2 aircraft to Alan Bush and will provide the resources required to fully train the pilot. Bush said "I am thrilled to be affiliated with MXR and am confident that the MX2 will be the plane that allows me to achieve my goal of earning a slot on the United States Unlimited Aerobatic team by the end of the 2006 competition season." Bush has over 30 years of competition experience and has won numerous Unlimited Aerobatic Titles.

Airshow performer Gary Ward approached MX2 to deliver his custom built airshow dream machine. He is expected to take delivery in late 2005, and will have his new plane at the ICAS convention in Orlando November 30th through December 3rd taking bookings for the 2006 airshow season. Gary has flown over 200 Airshow Performances at 60 airshows during the last 7 years. Gary said "the MX2 is exactly what I have been looking for to take my airshow routine to the next level".

The public will have the chance to see the MX2 at EAA Airventure 2005 (Oshkosh, WI) and at the 2005 US National Aerobatic Championships (in Denison, TX).
