Bring On Another Cub!

Time Pieces Sells Out Of Shares In One J-3, Buys Another

Time Pieces calls it "overwhelming" -- the response to its tailwheel instructional program at Creve Coeur Airport (MO). In fact, the response has been so remarkable that all shares in the company's first Piper Cub sold out in less than 4 months. Now, Time Pieces says it will offer shares in a second Cub.

Time Pieces, based in Hanover (IN), is aimed at preserving the art of "true" flying by allowing more pilots to experience tailwheel aircraft. It also strives not only to get the classic aircraft back into the air and flying but to keep them there. Since its inception, Time Pieces has introduced 20 pilots to vintage aircraft as share owners.

The company recently trained four CFI's as tailwheel instructors, passing along the art of "stick and rudder" flying to a new generation of pilots. "Just think," said Time Pieces President Ginger Davidson, "if each of these CFI's works with ten pilots in the Time Pieces program and ten pilots outside the program, we have provided 80 individuals the opportunity to learn skills, not currently being taught, which will help pilots throughout their aviation careers."

The second Time Pieces J-3 cub located at Creve Coeur airport was completely restored in 1998. It is now being upgraded with the addition of a larger powerplant and starter so that pilots will have a "top of the line" Cub to fly in early spring 2005.
