NTSB To Release Factual Reports On Teterboro Challenger Crash

Just The Facts, Ma'am, Just The Facts

As part of its continuing investigation into an accident involving a corporate jet in Teterboro, New Jersey last February, the National Transportation Safety Board will open a public docket and release a series of factual reports on Monday, October 31, 2005, at 11:00 am.

On February 2nd, a Bombardier Challenger CL-600 corporate jet overran the departure end of runway 6 during an aborted takeoff attempt and crashed into a fence, two cars, and a warehouse. A postcrash fire ensued. The pilot, copilot, and two automobile occupants received serious injuries, and a cabin aid and eight passengers received minor injuries.

The information being released is factual in nature and does not provide any analysis. It will include investigative group factual reports, interview transcripts, cockpit voice recorder transcript, and other documents from the investigation. Additional material will be added to the docket as it becomes available. Analysis of the accident, along with conclusions and a determination of probable cause, will come at a later date when the final report on the investigation is completed.
