Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan EX Flight Decks Upgraded

Enhanced Flight Experience For Pilots Of Utility Turboprops

Textron announced its Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan EX utility turboprop aircraft will begin receiving significant upgrades and amenities designed to improve the flight experience for pilots.

The improvements are the direct result of customer feedback and will become standard on all new Caravan and Grand Caravan EX aircraft beginning in 2025. The most noticeable change is the contemporary appearance of the all-black cockpit panels. The Caravan will also get electroluminescent lighting for better backlighting in dimly-lit situations as in the current Grand Caravan EX model.

Additional improvements include:

  •   Wider boarding ladder for easier access to the captain’s side
  •   Four round air vents replace the two rectangular vents
  •   Headset hooks underneath the cockpit glareshield
  •   Standard power headset jacks (LEMO plugs) adjoining the existing GA plugs, for additional flexibility
  •   Two USB-C charging ports replace the 12V power adapter on the center console
  •   Two USB-C charging ports on the right side panel for the copilot

Christopher Crow, Textron Vice President of Piston and Utility Sales said, “The enhancements to the Cessna Caravan flight deck demonstrate our continued commitment to providing the best possible flight experience for our customers. Our ongoing investments in this family of aircraft continues to build on the Caravan’s nearly 40-year history of success as the utility aircraft of choice for customers around the world.”
