EASA Clears Collins Fusion on Cessna CJ1's and 2's

Upgraded Citation Flight Deck Arrives for Euro Clientele

RTX Collins has been granted approval by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the installation of their Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics system on the Cessna Citation CJ1+ and CJ2+.

The news adds yet another nifty little option for those with legacy aircraft and old fashioned avionics, allowing operators to modernize their flight deck in one fell swoop. The Pro Line Fusion system does everything you'd expect befitting a private jet, with expansive 14" touch displays and the full gamut of flight planning, operations, and reversionary options needed to bring out the best of the Citation platform. Flight planning, mapping, weather analysis are all at the ready, with a variety of orientation options to set things up exactly as pilots prefer it, all while retaining familiar FMS programming buttons on the center stack below. For those already using RTX Collins gear from previous releases, like a Pro Line 21, the upgrade is even quicker and simpler, using much of the same wiring and hardware.

"Clearing this certification hurdle is a major step forward in providing European CJ customers with a solution that not only enhances their aircraft operations but can also extend the life and functionality of an aircraft," said Nathan Voight, vice president and general manager, Business and Regional Avionics at Collins Aerospace. "This milestone underscores Collins' commitment to supporting the global network of CJ operators with the flight deck technology that makes operations safer, more efficient and predictable each and every flight."

Options for the Pro Line Fusion series include dual integrated EFB, secondary GNSS sensors, HF comms, datalink and weather, and the addition of a video window, improving the future livability of the system as more advanced tech works its way into the market. RTX Collins tops it all off with a 2-year warranty, with some additional coverage for associated Collins Aerospace avionics (when procured through their Collins Avionics Service Program, of course!)
