Savannah Location Trained Over 2,000 Technicians In
2006
FlightSafety International
announced last week it will double the size of its Gulfstream
aircraft maintenance training facility in Savannah, GA.
Governor Sonny Perdue of Georgia attended Friday's ground
breaking ceremony for the 20,000 square expansion of the facility.
Officials from FlightSafety and Gulfstream also welcomed local
government, business and media representatives, as well as
employees from the two companies to the event.
"This extension of our Gulfstream maintenance training facility
in Savannah will enhance the services we provide the technicians
who maintain and support the growing fleet of Gulfstream aircraft,"
said Bruce Whitman, President & CEO, FlightSafety
International. "In addition to receiving comprehensive training
designed to enhance safety, Gulfstream and our mutual customers
will benefit from well-equipped classrooms, innovative, advanced
technology training devices and hands-on practical learning
areas."

FlightSafety and Gulfstream Aerospace have worked closely to
develop the TTT Total Technical Training program. It offers a wide
variety of maintenance training courses taught by instructors from
both companies. Over 2,000 technicians underwent maintenance
training in Savannah during 2006. The facility expansion scheduled
to be completed by the second quarter of 2008 will have the
capacity to train upwards of 5,000 technicians per year.
The Savannah Learning Center features 10 FlightSafety built
simulators, including those for the Gulfstream GIV, Gulfstream GV,
Gulfstream G450, and Gulfstream G550 aircraft.
FlightSafety has been the official factory authorized training
organization for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation for more than
three decades. Training for Gulfstream aircraft is also available
in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Long Beach, CA; the Greater
Philadelphia/Wilmington, DE area and at the London Farnborough
Airport in the United Kingdom.
Over 75,000 pilots, technicians and other aviation professionals
train at FlightSafety facilities each year.
