First Cadets Graduate From Southwest and iAero Initiatives

Pathways Program Provides Opportunity To Fly For Southwest

iAero Airways has provided new hire training to the first graduates of their partnership with Southwest Airlines Destination 225° Employee Pathway. The first two cadets now serve as first officers for iAero Airways. The pilots received their ATP certificate along with a Boeing 737 type rating from the FAA.

The initiative between iAero and Southwest provides the opportunity for aspiring pilots to meet their goals and ultimately take flight with Southwest.

iAero Airways plans to employ the first two participants for two years as 737 officers which will put them on the pathway to joining the Southwest team. Prior to joining the program, both of the first officers were working as flight crew scheduler and a flight attendant at Southwest, for six and 14 years respectively.

"Creatively navigating the industry-wide pilot shortage through innovation and strategic partnerships has also helped us live our purpose of elevating people and places by supporting employees' hard work and advancement goals," said Robert Caputo, Chief Executive Officer of iAero Group. "These new employees represent the beginning of an incredible program made possible by the iAero Airways team and their industry-leading training and safety expertise."

This month marks two years that iAero Airways has been partnered with Southwest’s Destination 225° Program, signing on as a corporate partner. The partners will continue to work together, adding more Destination 225° participants in time as the program moves forward. iAero Airways has begun training of their next two cadets who are scheduled to receive their Boeing 737 type ratings at the end of this month.
