Pentastar Aviation Completes Global Express Cockpit Screen Upgrade

Honeywell DU-875 LCD Installed Under STC

Pentastar Aviation has completed its first Honeywell DU-875 flight deck display upgrade on a Global Express, resolving upcoming obsolescence issues on the aircraft.

Pentastar was awarded Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) ST04194CH for certification of Honeywell’s DU-875 flight deck display upgrade on Global Express airframes early last year, and added Cessna 550, 560 and 560XL; Cessna 750; Dassault Mystere-Falcon 900 and Falcon 900 EX and Learjet 45 series to the Approved Model List (AML) in July 2017. The DU-875 is a form-fit plug-n-play LCD upgrade that increases display reliability and provides a growth plan to Primus Elite with Enhanced Features (charts, maps, XM Weather) and Advanced Features (SVS) on several of the platforms through additional software and hardware upgrades.

Pentastar’s STC eliminates the need for modifications to the cockpit and requires no changes to the existing aircraft writing or additional pilot training, which ensures limited aircraft downtime. “The Global Express landed at our facility, had all six monitors upgraded to the DU-875, and was back in the air in less than 3 hours,” said Jesse Beard, Pentastar Aviation’s Director of Engineering & Inside Sales. “The upgrade has higher display reliability and a growth path to future technologies which was in line with the customer’s requirements.”
For a limited time, Honeywell is offering a $40,000 trade-in incentive per display replacement.

The Pentastar avionics team – which delivers an unmatched combination of quality, technology, superior customer service, and meticulous attention to detail – has decades of experience providing industry-leading avionics system integration design, STC development, and service and maintenance on the most sophisticated avionics systems in the marketplace today.
