Delta Partners With Joby, Uber For Multimodal Travel

‘Concierge’ Digital Assistant Connects With Travel Options

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025) in Las Vegas, Nevada, Delta Air Lines’ CEO Ed Bastian announced in his keynote address the rollout of its AI-powered digital assistant, Delta Concierge, built into its Fly Delta mobile app that enables travelers to seamlessly select a multimodal option through Delta’s newly-formed partnerships with Joby electric air taxi and Uber for ground transportation.

Concierge is designed to provide personalized assistance in real time to travelers throughout their journey. Powered by generative AI, it anticipates their needs  to offer contextual guidance and perform actions for the user.

Examples of what Concierge might do include aiding navigation inside airports to find baggage drop locations, Delta Sky Clubs, and departure gates. It can also provide notifications about visa requirements, passport expirations, and destination information such as weather conditions.

The collaboration with Uber lets SkyMiles members link their Uber accounts to earn miles on eligible rides and deliveries, streamlining the travel experience from door to door.

Through its connection with Joby’s electric air taxi service, travelers can also take advantage of home-to-airport transportation. However it is not yet known when this will actually become available.

Bastian said, “Delta is thinking differently about how we blend the digital and physical experiences, starting with the Fly Delta app. Our vision for Delta Concierge is that it will serve as an AI-powered personal assistant that combines the context of who our customers are and how they like to travel, with the deep knowledge and insights we’ve built as the world’s most reliable airline.”
