Air Methods Expands Fleet With Airbus Purchase

Global Fleet Agreement Includes Multiple Aircraft Models

Air Methods, one of the top providers of air medical transportation services in the U.S. announced a fleet expansion purchase of Airbus helicopters at this year’s HAI Verticon 2025 conference in Dallas, Texas.

The Global Fleet Agreement includes the acquisition of H140, 10 H125s, and 11 H130s to support the company’s missions around the country. Air Methods is already the largest civilian operator of Airbus helicopters worldwide with a large fleet of H125, H130, H135, and H145 aircraft.

Rob Hamilton, CEO of Air Methods said, “We are excited to initiate our fleet expansion efforts with Airbus helicopters. This Global Fleet Agreement not only enhances our ability to support our customers with cutting-edge aircraft but also strategically positions Air Methods for sustained growth and innovation in the decade ahead.”

Bart Reijnen, President of Airbus Helicopters in the U.S. and Head of the North America region said, “This announcement marks a major milestone in the longstanding relationship between Airbus and Air Methods, providing our team with new opportunities to support the life-saving missions Air Methods performs each day. This agreement for new aircraft is a testament to the excellent performance, safety and reliability that Airbus helicopters provide.”

Airbus displayed a full-scale model in an EMS configuration at Verticon. It features a number of innovations including a T-shaped tail boom with an optimized Fenestron that reduces sound, a five-blade bearingless main rotor and new engines.
