AD: Bombardier, Inc., Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2018-07-09

PRODUCT: Certain Bombardier, Inc., Model CL-600-2C10 (Regional Jet Series 700, 701, & 702), Model CL-600-2D15 (Regional Jet Series 705), Model CL-600-2D24 (Regional Jet Series 900), and Model CL-600-2E25 (Regional Jet Series 1000) airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by a report of a smoke-in-cabin event due to a nonsustaining electrical fire.

This AD requires installation of protective sleeves on the bonding jumper wires of affected galleys and lavatories.

DATES: This AD is effective May 14, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 544 airplanes of U.S. registry. The cost of compliance is estimated as follows:

  • Install protective sleeves: 10 work-hours × $85 per hour = $850.
