Washington State Pilots, Mechanics, Owners:

Get Your Papers in Order... and Don't Forget Your Credit Card Information

Aircraft owners, Pilots, and Mechanics are reminded that tough new enforcement provisions in recent Washington State Law provide for stiff civil penalties (up to $400) in addition to criminal penalties for failure to register with the state. We strongly encourage all pilots, mechanics, and aircraft owners to register during an amnesty period which ends on June 30, 2003 to avoid these penalties. Registration forms can be found at the Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation Division website.

[ANN has interviewed folks in Washington State, regarding this new policy, and you can expect a researched article in the next day or two. Wait until you hear about the 33% gas-tax hike for small GA, and what it's to be used for! --ed.]
