NASAO Holds 94th Convention In Anchorage, Elects New Board

400+ From 36 States Attend, Announce Exec Cmte And Regional Directors

The National Association of State Aviation Officials held its 94th Annual Convention and Trade Show in Anchorage, Alaska, from September 21-24, 2025, that brought more than 400 attendees from 36 states for what the group’s leaders called a resounding success.

In addition to floor exhibits and demonstrations, the show featured keynote addresses from Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities Commissioner, Ryan Anderson, PE, and its Deputy Commissioner, Katherine Keith, PMP, PMI-ACP, as well as networking and panel sessions.

State members of NASAO also elected its Board of Directors for 2025-2026. Clayton Stambaugh, Deputy Director for Aeronautics at the Illinois Department of Transportation, began his stint as NASAO Board Chair on September 24.

The new Board members are:

  • Marty Blake, Indiana Department of Transportation – Immediate Past Chair

  • Jeremy Borrell, Nebraska Department of Transportation – Central Region
  • Greg Campbell, Virginia Department of Aviation – Eastern Region
  • Ryan Gaug, AICP, Minnesota Department of Transportation – Great Lakes Region
  • Alan Lambert, Maine Department of Transportation – New England Region
  • Kenji Sugahara, Oregon Department of Aviation, Northwest Mountain Region
  • John Paul Saalwaechter, P.E., Tennessee Department of Transportation – Southern Region
  • Jessi Litz-Rowden, New Mexico Department of Transportation – Southwest Region
  • Matthew Munden, Arizona Department of Transportation – Western-Pacific Region

Greg Pecoraro, President and CEO of NASAO said, “NASAO’s 94th annual meeting again provided a valuable opportunity for state aviation agency leaders to confer with their FAA partners on critical policy issues and discuss the safe integration of emerging technologies into the National Airspace System.

“It also afforded them an opportunity to engage with leading members of the aviation industry to learn about new developments, technologies, and techniques for managing common challenges faced by states and airports that are critical to ensuring safety throughout the system.”
