Schiebel, Thales Awarded UK Peregrine Contract

Camcopter S-100 Selected for Royal Navy ISR UAV

Schiebel and Thales were granted the “Peregrine”Uncrewed Air Systems contract by the UK Ministry of Defence.

The award will ensure delivery of the brand's joint Camcopter S-100 UAS, fitted with a naval surveillance sensor suite for duty on Royal Navy ships. The S-100 has been on a notable demo tour in recent years, rattling off one successful seaborne test after another as the firm looked to build brand awareness in the UAV scene - and it's starting to pay off.

For their part of the deal, Schiebel will provide their operationally proven S-100. Thales will take that base aircraft and cram in a range of high precision Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance sensors and systems. The Thales I-Master radar, an EO/IR camera, and an Automatic Identification System (AIS), will feed into CarteNav’s AIMS Mission System to provide all-weather detection and identification for any target on the seas.

"We are immensely proud that the CAMCOPTER S-100 is the UK Ministry of Defence’s choice for its prestigious Peregrine programme," said Hans Georg Schiebel, Chairman of the Schiebel Group. “The S-100 is the optimal UAS for a growing number of Navies worldwide and has proven its superiority and outstanding capabilities throughout its numerous operational deployments.”
