Whirly-Girls Silent Auction Makes Online Debut

Offers Bidding Through On Your Phone With No Special App Required

Every year, the Whirly-Girls holds a Silent Auction at Heli-Expo to raise money for our Scholarship Fund. This year, the auction is moving online.  No more rushing over to our booth to increase your bid...now you can do it right from your phone.

Nothing special needed. Just go to the website from your browser on any device and sign up. You do need to create an account and log in to bid. In order to place a bid, your account must include your credit card information. However, the website is secure and you will never be charged for anything without your consent. You can either pay through the bidding website or pay us in person at the booth with cash or credit card of your choice.

Online bidding means you can bid from anywhere on the convention floor, or even from home if you don't make it to the show, which makes the auction far more convenient for bidders and more successful for the Whirly-Girls.

If you find something you love, but you are going to be in meetings all day, you can place a proxy bid to increase your chances of winning. A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you are willing to spend and then let the system bid for you up to that amount. For example, if an item is currently selling for $10 and you enter a proxy bid of $50, the system will automatically bid for you until the selling price goes over $50. At that point, you will be outbid and someone else will be the leading bidder. You will only owe the amount the system has bid for you which will never be more than your maximum proxy bid amount.

By setting the correct preferences in the auction site when you sign up, you will be notified when you get outbid or when you win.

The 32auctions site is a reputable online auction platform is most definitely a secure way to shop. Your email address is only used for notifications and contacting you when you win an item. Winners may either pick up their items at the Whirly Girls booth at the show, or provide a shipping address. Payment will be accepted either in person or online.

The online auction opens Februrary 23 at 0600 PST. All the money goes to the Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund.
