NBAA Leadership Updated

Professionals from Choice Hotels, Pfizer, Embraer, Foreflight Added to board,

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today re-elected four individuals to the association’s Board of Directors during an annual meeting held during the 2021 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).

Leadership changes include Monte Koch, of Choice Hotels, succeeding Elizabeth Dornak, of DuPont, as board chair. John Witzig, of Pfizer, will now serve as NBAA’s new vice chair/treasurer.

Koch is a retired partner at BDT & Company, where he advised clients and invested in a range of industries from real estate to aviation.  Bringing with him more than a quarter century of investment banking experience, he served as chairman of M&A for the Americas and global head of real estate investment banking at Deutsche Bank. He co-founded Ten-X/Auction.com in 2012, a website that later became the largest online marketplace for residential and commercial real estate transactions. He is currently a director of Choice Hotels. He holds an ATP license and is type rated in the Falcon 10 Gulfstream IV and V, and 747-400. Re-elected to a 2-year term, his term as chair will end in 2023.

The new vice chair and treasurer, John Witzig, is a member of Pfizer’s Human Resources Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Council.  Prior to his time with Pfizer, he was the senior vice president of operations for CitationAir, Cessna’s fractional aircraft business. He has worked as an overnight freight pilot, and later, chief pilot of a business aviation flight department. He has logged over 7,000 hours in flight time.  His re-election grants him a three-year term as director, with his vice chair position concluding in 2023.

Other personnel have assumed positions on the advisory council and board.

Michael Amalfitano, president and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, and Tyson Weihs, co-founder/CEO of Foreflight, will serve as advisory council chair and vice chair through 2023.

Bill Ayer of Honeywell, and Sean Lee of The Coca-Cola Company were also re-elected to 3 year terms on the board of directors.
