Envoy Air Pilot Leaders Re-Elect Officers

Capt. Sam Pool Will Continue As Chairman Of The Executive Council

Pilot leaders at Envoy Air, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), re-elected their current officers to serve additional two-year terms beginning September 8, 2015.  Continuing to serve on behalf of their pilots as Envoy Air Master Executive Council (MEC) officers are:  Capt. Sam Pool, chairman; Capt. James Funderburk, vice chairman; and F/O Stephan Ramos, secretary-treasurer.

“Protecting and advancing the careers of all Envoy pilots remains our top priority,” says Pool, “but, we continue to monitor the fee-for-departure segment of the airline industry to take advantage of any opportunities or tackle any challenges that may arise.”

Late last year, the Envoy pilots ratified a new, 10-year collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated on the heels of the agreement reached during the American Airlines bankruptcy.  Envoy Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines and provides regional flight service to American Airlines under the American Eagle brand.

“Right now, Envoy Air is uniquely positioned with a surplus of qualified and current Part 121 pilots,” Pool adds, “and we urge AAG to deploy additional aircraft at Envoy to maximize the value of our brand, allowing faster upgrades and more robust opportunities for our senior pilots to move to American Airlines.”

The Envoy MEC represents more than 2,100 pilots who currently fly CRJ700 and Embraer 145 regional jets. Envoy is scheduled to take delivery of Embraer 175s starting in November.
