Flight Training Community Championed By SAFE, Hoover Foundation, and ANN

New Partnership Focuses On The Needs Of  New Flight Instructors!

To the outside world, the most important jobs in aviation might be perceived as those who run the airlines, fly the biggest aircraft, work at the FAA, or otherwise seem to be in charge of much of the aviation world... but a new partnership knows this is simply not true.

The most important jobs in aviation, literally a whole category of aviators who determine the future course of aviation, are conducted by the world's Certificated Flight Instructors (CFIs).

Three powerful aviation forces are partnering to insure that the future of aviation education gets the attention and resources it deserves. The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) is joining with the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation (BHLF) and the Aero-News Network (ANN) to provide expert resources for the newest generation of Flight Instructors.

The first of a number of programs envisioned for the future will take the expertise of SAFE, and its reservoir of the nation's best flight educators to develop programs that enhance the transition of new flight instructors as they take command of aircraft for the purpose of training the nation's next generation of pilots.

SAFE is a member-oriented organization of aviation educators fostering professionalism and excellence in aviation through continuing education, professional standards, and accreditation. Using the professional guidance and career lessons from the life of the legendary Bob Hoover and the Foundation he established to empower future generations of flyers and the resources of the Aero-News Network; SAFE will lead the partnership in developing curricula, video resources, class materials, and a number of regional and online meetings to build the expertise and skillset of our industry's newest flight instructors and educators. Special emphasis will be paid to 'teaching-skills' as well as safety standards inherent in a number of flight instruction regimes.

ANN will also be partnering with SAFE on program development and distribution for their weekly 'Airborne-Flight Training" video news program series... the most widely circulated news program of its kind.

David St. George, SAFE's Executive Director, expressed gratitude to the Hoover Foundation saying “it is an immense honor for SAFE to help carry forward Bob’s life mission of building professionalism in aviation and improving flight safety. Every CFI must embrace these goals since they are the 'primary aviation influencers' building all our future pilots. The SAFE CFI-PRO™ program provides resources that elevate CFIs from “good to great” given the proper commitment. This added effort improves flight training quality and each pilot’s future safety.

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation's Executive Director and ANN CEO, Jim Campbell, is enthused about the future, "The Foundation and ANN simply could not have partnered with anyone with greater resources, dedication, and expertise in this oh-so-critical aspect of the aviation community. We've come to know the staff and members at SAFE after over a decade of working with them on some special projects. Building a formal partnership for the future is an exciting way for us all to give back even more to the aviation community that is facing the challenges of progress, bureaucracy, and new technology at a breath-taking pace."

Additional information and invitations that would allow members of the aviation community to support, partner, and involve themselves in this program will be released over the next few weeks.
