American Airlines Named 'Official Airline For Ageless Aviation'

Recently Donated 1.75 Million American Airlines AAdvantage Miles For Volunteers To Use

Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation today announced American Airlines as the "Official Airline for Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation" for the 2020 Dream Flight Tour. The airline recently donated 1.75 million American Airlines AAdvantage miles to the nonprofit organization for volunteers to use for AADF-related travel.

AADF's mission is giving back to those who have given by honoring veterans and seniors living in retirement and long-term care communities with free Dream Flights in a restored Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train WWII aviators.

"We are extremely grateful for this generous donation of American Airlines AAdvantage miles," says AADF Founder and President Darryl Fisher. "Our organization is supported entirely by the generosity of individuals and organizations like American Airlines who believe in our mission of honoring our veterans."

Fisher says the thousands of dollars saved in travel costs using AAdvantage miles will allow the foundation to create the magic of a Dream Flight for hundreds of additional veterans nationwide. Each Dream Flight costs roughly $250. To recognize American Airlines for this monumental gift, AADF will display its logo on each of its five Stearmans.

"We're tremendously proud to support the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation and all they are doing to provide these memorable flights for those who have served and fought for our nation," says Randy Stillinger, American Airlines' Manager of Military and Veterans Initiatives.

AADF has given 4,200 Dream Flights in 41 states since 2011. AADF plans to honor roughly 800 veterans during the 2020 Dream Flight Tour and will present its 5,000th Dream Flight in New York, the 50th state in which AADF will fly.

Fisher says the magic of the Dream Flight continues to inspire communities and families to support AADF through contributions and grassroots fundraising campaigns. Last year, AADF added the Spirit of Wisconsin to its fleet of Stearmans after a Wisconsin community raised $125,000 to purchase the plane. In April 2020, AADF will dedicate the Spirit of Texas, a Stearman purchased using funds raised during a campaign led by former F-16 and retired FedEx pilot Tim Newton.
