Who's Who at Aero-News: Addison DeWitt

Introducing ANN Staff, Stringers, Videographers... The People Who Make It All Work: A New Voice on the Roster

Anyone who's ever been to events like Oshkosh, AEA, and Sun 'n Fun know that there are hundreds of events and activities as well as tens of thousands of people that descend (some quite literally) on these locations each year. While we have a very hard-working and dedicated staff, ANN could not provide you with the extensive information we do without the help of some equally ... some might say more ... dedicated stringers and other staffers who give a week of their time to make sure you have the best possible coverage of every show and ever day.

Introducing.... Addison DeWitt

At 19, Addison DeWitt is a sophomore at Purdue University, double majoring in Professional Flight Technology and Aviation Management. She earned her private pilot certificate in high school, followed it up with an instrument rating, just completed her Commercial ticket and is now working through her certified flight instructor program.

Despite being a first-generation pilot, Addison has been entranced by aviation for as long as she can remember. Her earliest hands-on experience came through her local EAA Chapter (shoutout to Music City Executive Airport), just outside Nashville. That’s where she started her flight journey and logged the first of what is now 250+ hours... mostly in a classic Piper Archer, but with a couple of hours on the experimental side here and there.

In 2024, she attended her first airshow—not as a visitor, but as a stringer for Aero-News Network. It was an undeniably fast-paced introduction to aviation media, but through the experience, she proved herself capable of working as a part-time aviation journalist. She has now been to numerous events repping the ANN uniform, including everything from small community fly-ins to THE Oshkosh AirVenture.

When not scrambling around airshows, she’s been writing daily stories, forming ties with the community, and learning how the industry flows beyond just the cockpit. Eventually, she plans to work in business aviation while remaining as active as possible within the GA community.
