Corporate Angel Network, CharterNation Partner On Cancer Patient Travel

Alliance With New Online Search Engine Aims To Increase Use Of Private And Charter Aircraft By CAN

A new online charter flight search engine has formed an alliance with the Corporate Angel Network (CAN) in an effort to increase the use of private and charter aircraft to transport cancer patients to treatment centers across the country. CharterNation can now display CAN's patient needs as potential matches to aircraft availability notices ("empty legs") that are continuously being posted within the CharterNation platform.

"This seemed like a no-brainer to us," says CharterNation founder Greg Johnson. "Every day we were looking at hundreds of empty legs within our system, and we thought 'Why not see if we can do something with these?' We met with the folks at CAN, ran a few tests, and the resultant match percentage was impressive. So our system now automatically runs every empty leg against CAN patient needs, and gives operators the opportunity to offer an aircraft that might otherwise fly empty."

"We are very pleased to partner with CharterNation on this," says Peter Fleiss, Executive Director for Corporate Angel Network. "If this results in just one match, where an aircraft that otherwise would have flown empty can now transport a cancer patient to treatment, that would be a success. We expect, however, that this alliance will result in many matches and many cancer patients being helped."
