Mary Dilda's T-6 Highlights Wings Tonight

We were reminded by ANN Reader Dan Ventre that tonight's the night, on Discovery Wings. He said, "Just a short but proud note to inform all of you that Mary Dilda Airshows and the Two of Hearts Air Racing Team will be featured on the Discovery Channel Wings program tonight [Wednesday] at 7 P.M. Memphis (Central) time. All of us are excited and will be glued to a screen and hope you will take the time to watch one of our own get the recognition she deserves."

He continued, "Mary is a FedEx pilot who flys her WW-II T-6 trainer in many airshows around the country, including her local Midsouth Charity Airshow, and remains the only serious female competitor at the annual Reno Air Races, racing both her T-6 and an L-39 Albatross (below) in the world's only jet race. (Mary placed second this year in the T-6 'Gold' race after a harrowing engine failure the day before, and beat out astronaut 'Hoot' Gibson to win the jet race!) While the Wings piece is primarily airshow-oriented, it will provide great insight into this unique world of pilots, airshows and airplanes."

Mary is truly one of the sport's great ambassadors, and she and fellow commercial pilot, husband Steve "Clipper" Dilda campaign Blue at many, many major shows. The Wings program is bound to be a hit.
