Columbia 400 Stars On LA News Magazine

Ten-Minute Segment Aired On LA's Channel 9

A turbocharged Columbia 400 certified aircraft made its show business debut this week as the subject of a ten-minute segment that aired on Los Angeles news magazine 9 On The Town.

Emmy-nominated producer Josh Chaiton produced the segment, titled Flight Partners, for KCAL TV. The segment profiled three LA-area residents who jointly own a Columbia 400 and explores how each uses the aircraft differently to benefit their respective lifestyles.

The segment also includes interviews with Erik Lindbergh, grandson of aviation pioneer Charles Lindbergh, who recreated his grandfather's historic trans-Atlantic crossing in 2002 in a Columbia 300.

Flying Magazine Publisher Dick Koenig is also featured.

"We're very pleased that Josh chose the Columbia 400 as the subject for this story," said Columbia Vice President of Marketing and Sales Randy S. Bolinger. "He did a beautiful job showcasing the aircraft's capabilities and highlighting an ownership option that really opens up the market to a lot more people."

"Shared access makes flying a modern aircraft like the Columbia more accessible for many folks," Chaiton said. "There's nothing like the feeling of freedom when you can fly to your destination quickly, while other travelers are inching their way along congested freeways or spending the day flying and changing planes to get to locations off the beaten track."

The segment first aired on September 28th, but will run again several times in the coming weeks on KCAL9. Watch local listings for the schedule. The segment is also posted on Columbia Aircraft's homepage.
