Aura-Aero’s Electric Integral E Preps For ePlane Market

Assembly Plant Construction Begins In Daytona Beach, Florida

Aura Aero’s first fully electric aircraft, the Integral E, took its maiden flight in late 2024. This milestone supports the manufacturer’s vision of reducing its emissions by 55% over the next five years.

"The first flight of Integral E is a huge step forward, not only because the Integral family is now complete, but also because this aircraft is one of the first to address, an electric version, many of the needs expressed by training schools and flying clubs," expressed company president and co-founder Jeremy Caussade.

Caussade co-founded Aura-Aero alongside two aeronautical engineers in 2018. Since then, the company has churned out two aircraft: the Integral R and Integral S. Both planes are two-seater, low-wing designs specifically curated for flight training and “optimized lightness” with a wood-carbon construction and modern features. The aircraft are currently working towards FAA and EASA certification.

Aura Aero’s most recent aircraft, the ‘E’ variant, completes the Integral trio. Though it follows the family’s training-based theme, the Integral E was created to help the manufacturer reduce aviation emissions. The aircraft is powered by a 50 kW Safran ENGINeUS electric motor that can be charged in less than 30 minutes and flown for around 60 minutes at a time with two pilots.

The first Integral E prototype, registered F-WIAE, took its debut flight out of the Toulouse Francazal Airport (LFBF) in Portet-sur-Garonne, France on December 3.

"We are very proud of what we have achieved in six years and of the commercial success of the Integral family. Decarbonization of aviation is now a reality," Caussade added.

Later this year, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Research Park in Daytona Beach, Florida, is slated to open its manufacturing facility for the Integral E. The electric two-seat bird is expected to hit the market in 2026 once its two years of flight tests have been completed.
