Aurora Flight Sciences To Supply Composite Structures For Relentless

Fairings For Main Engine Cowling Section To Be Built In WV

Aurora Flight Sciences announced from the Farnborough Air Show that they have been selected by Bell Helicopter to manufacture composite airframe structures as part of the Bell 525 Relentless helicopter program.

The composite fairings of the Bell 525's main engine cowling section will be manufactured and assembled at Aurora's Bridgeport, West Virginia facility. Aurora will work directly with the Bell Helicopter team to meet challenging schedule and production rate requirements.

"Aurora is pleased to be a part of the Bell Helicopter 525 Relentless team," said Mark Cherry, Aurora's President and Chief Operating Officer. "Aurora's production capabilities and expertise in composite manufacturing were key discriminators in Bell Helicopter's decision to choose Aurora for this exciting program."

Headquartered in Manassas, VA, Aurora Flight Sciences designs and manufactures large composite structures for defense and commercial aerospace applications. The company operates production plants in Bridgeport, WV and Columbus, MS and a Research and Development Center in Cambridge, MA.
