Transport Canada Grants STC For SAC 7-35 Airdata Computer Integration

Midland Instruments To Install Sandia Aerospace Devices Aboard Metro 2 Aircraft

Sandia Aerospace announced today that Midland Instruments, a full-service avionics system repair and maintenance company, has received Transport Canada STC approval for installation of Sandia’s SAC 7-35 to be integrated with Sandel ST3400 TAWS/RMI installations on M7 Aerospace SA226-T and SA226-TC Metro models.

Midland Instruments is the owner of the approved certificate. The company also provided most of the design for the project and provided the install kits. Further design work was accomplished by Avionics Design Services.

Perimeter Aviation, a regional airline operating out of Winnipeg (Manitoba) International Airport, is the end user of this STC which grants installation approval for the SAC 7-35 to be installed in Perimeter’s 11 Metro 2 (SA226-TC) aircraft to comply with the new Transport Canada regulation regarding TAWS Class A which is effective on July 4, 2014.

Sandia’s SAC 7-35 is four instruments in one. It is an altitude encoder; provides altitude alerting; provides fuel flow data reporting; and is a full up air-data computer.
