Aero-News: Quote of the Day

ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news, though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have a bearing on the day's events and issues.

Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be thought-provoking.

Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become future Quotes of the Day.

Let us hear from you, folks!

Aero-News Quote of the Day

"These guys [TSA] allow me access to the most secure areas of an airport and trust me to safely fly a multi-million aircraft with hundreds of people on board every day, but when it comes to allowing me to carry a gun in my cockpit, suddenly they’re interested in probing every aspect of my life. That just doesn’t make sense."

Source: Airline captain, requesting anonymity out of fear of reprisal, when discussing with the Associated Press how the TSA is trying to make it near-impossible for pilots to be armed. The TSA's latest trick is to move the training facility 250 miles from the nearest big city (Albuquerque), and 40 miles from even Roswell (NM).
