May Be Installed In Non-TCAS-II Equipped Aircraft
The FAA has awarded an STC to Butler Avionics, Inc., a subsidiary of Butler National Corporation for its ADS-B(Out) solution in the Learjet 31A.
The cost-effective Butler Avionics ADS-B STC solution incorporates the Garmin GTN 625/725 GPS and GTX 335R/345R Transponders into a standalone ADS-B(Out) compliant system that offers optional ADS-B(In) capabilities. The Butler Avionics ADS-B solution may be installed in non-TCAS II equipped Learjet 31A aircraft.
Optional ADS-B(In) capability (BlueTooth transmitted to a portable electronic device such as the iPad) distinguishes the Butler Avionics STC from ordinary ADS-B solutions. The ADS-B(In) functionality provides uplink weather information, a graphical traffic display, and other flight information on the iPad that enhances overall situational awareness.
Butler National offers detailed STC drawing packages for qualified avionics shops for the installation of ADS-B equipment into Learjet 24, 25, 31A, 35, 36, and 60 series aircraft. “Butler National has a wide spectrum of cost-effective options for Learjet aircraft with and without TCAS II equipment installed,” said Clark D. Stewart, CEO and President of Butler National Corporation. “We are pleased to further support the Learjet 31A with this minimal-downtime and cost-effective ADS-B solution. Butler offers the ADS-B solution to customers at our Butler Avionics facility in Olathe, Kansas (KIXD) or in Newton (Wichita area), Kansas (KEWK), or through qualified avionics installation facilities worldwide. With the deadline quickly approaching, we encourage operators to commit to modifications now to prepare for January 1, 2020,” Stewart said.
