2024 Henderson Trophy Goes to MedAire

Offsite Medical Director Gains Note from Aviation Industry

The 2024 Clifford Henderson Trophy, one of the National Aeronautic Association's myriad ways to recognize service to the industry at large, has been awarded to MedAire.

Where other brands focus wholeheartedly on the simple transport leg of medical assistance, MedAire gained the NAA's attention thanks to the implementation of a network of call centers. Oddly enough, the the system allows MedAire to handle "hundreds of thousands of calls annually worldwide", providing "expert medical advice and assistance". That's a little unusual in a world where the very concept of call centers brings to mind nothing but boundless scorn and disgust, but MedAire manages to make it work for the best. Through their call services, MedAire can provide on-demand medical direction for in-flight emergencies, much like terrestrial EMS providers assist lower-credentialed - but present - personnel far afield.

MedAire has spread out its services through the business, commercial, and private aviation spheres and a variety of maritime flavors of similar distinction. They offer more than just knowledge, too, with a roster of emergency medical gear and kits to equip aircraft of any size and make.

"The criteria of the Henderson Trophy requires us to recognize an individual or group who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the advancement of aviation. I can think of few entities better than MedAire," said Amy Spowart, NAA President and CEO. "Founder Joan Sullivan Garrett transformed the industry. Under CEO Bill Dolny's stewardship, MedAire has continued to innovate and expand its services for all passengers across aviation and maritime industries, staying true to its core values of passion, expertise, respect, and care."

"We are honored and grateful to receive the prestigious Clifford Henderson Trophy," said Bill Dolny, CEO, MedAire. "This esteemed recognition truly reflects MedAire's dedication to innovation and exceptional service in the aviation industry. We pledge to carry forward our legacy of excellence and continue our commitment to elevating safety and health standards for travelers worldwide."
