Embraer Q3 Stats Reveal Record Numbers

Company-Wide Backlog Reaches $22.7 Billion

The 3rd Quarter of 2024 (3Q24) was one to remember for Embraer. The manufacturer reported a 33% year-on-year increase in deliveries and achieved a new backlog record of $22.7 billion.

Embraer recorded 57 jet deliveries in 3Q24 compared to last year’s 43 aircraft, marking a 33% increase. It has also risen 24% from last quarter. 41 jets were from the Executive sector and the other 16 were within the Commercial.

The manufacturer’s Defense and Security division delivered two of its C-390 Millennium military transport jets. One was the first C-390 to join the Hungarian Air Force fleet and the other was Brazil’s seventh. Embraer also recently signed a contract with the Netherlands and Austria for nine units. This segment's backlog was $3.6 billion, up around 70% both quarter on quarter (QoQ) and year on year (YoY).

Embraer’s Executive jet section shipped out 41 aircraft; a 45% YoY and 50% QoQ growth. Backlogs reached $4.4 billion, representing a 3% annual increase but a 4% sequential drop.

“The nominal decline in the backlog from its historical peak level can be explained by stronger growth (higher deliveries) and a seasonally slower period for sales because of summer in the northern hemisphere,” Embraer explained.

16 Commercial jets were delivered, with four from the E1 family and twelve from E2. LOT Polish Airlines received its first E2 jet and signed a contract to gain two more before 2025. Virgin Australia confirmed its purchase of eight E190-E2 narrowbody aircraft during this time. However, only four E175s were delivered instead of last quarter’s eight. Embraer noted a 30% YoY increase, a slight QoQ decrease, and an $11.1 billion backlog for its Commercial sector.

The Phenom 300 maintained its 12-year streak as king of the Commercial chart. Eighteen were delivered in 3Q24.

The Services and Support backlog was listed as $3.5 billion for a 25% YoY and 10% QoQ improvement.

Company-wide stats featured a new backlog record of $22.7 billion in 3Q24 -- 25% higher YoY and 10% higher QoQ. Its Defense & Security division recorded the largest backlog increase, trailed by Services and Support. Executive and Commercial sectors both experienced marginal decreases.
