Crownair Aviation To Showcase Glass-Panel R44 At Heli-Expo

"R44 Grand" Includes Dual Sagem Panels

Crownair Companies tells ANN it will display the Robinson R44 helicopter with an upgraded Sagem Avionics Integrated Cockpit Display System at the Heli-Expo 2009, Static Display # 40, February 22 through 24 in Anaheim, CA.

As ANN reported last November, when the "R44 Grand" received STC approval, the glass panel solution comprises two AMLCD 8-inch displays mounted in portrait mode. The system integrates Primary Flight Instruments, Engine Instruments and other Multifunction Display system functions such as enhanced vision when linked to a camera, TOPS – Terrain Obstacle Proximity System and many others.

The glass panel retrofit package is designed to fit into the conventional R44 cockpit layout and weighs 10 pounds less than the original cockpit system.

Crownair is working to establish a reputation for breathing new life into existing airframes. Last year, Crownair unveiled the new Crownair Centurion Edition 210, a glass-panel Cessna 210 upgraded by Crownair from spinner to tail cone.

"We recognize the changing nature of the aviation maintenance and avionics industry and our customer’s needs and budget," said Grant Murray, owner of Crownair Companies. "The R44 Grand is an affordable option with the latest technology and comforts."

The installation results in an all new panel and pedestal unit and can be installed on any R44 model. The installation is available at Crownair Companies IFR Avionics location in Van Nuys, CA.
