Avelo Orders 50 Embraer E195-E2s Worth $4.4B

Includes Options For Up To 50 More

Avelo Airlines, the Houston, Texas-based ultra-low-cost carrier, has placed a firm order with Embraer for 50 of its E195-E2 aircraft, with options for an additional 50, to support the airline’s strategy of delivering affordable and convenient air transportation in the U.S. The order is valued at about $4.4 billion not including the purchase rights, and deliveries of the aircraft are expected to begin in early 2027.

Avelo will become the first U.S. carrier to utilize the largest and most advanced Embraer commercial aircraft, representing a landmark for the manufacturer’s E2 program. Avelo intends to modernize its fleet with the narrowbody E195-E2 as an accompaniment to its Boeing 737NG aircraft as it also improves its cost efficiency and extends its network.

The proprietary technology of the E2’s Embraer Enhanced Takeoff System (E2TS) enables its excellent short-field performance that will prove key in opening new market opportunities for Avelo. The E2TS, in combination with its range, fuel efficiency, and low noise signature will establish the E2’s lead role in expanding the Avelo network.

Andrew Levy, Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO said, “We are thrilled to partner with Embraer and bring this best-in-class small narrowbody airplane to the United States marketplace. Our customers will love the E2’s comfortable 2x2 seating, in-seat power ports, large overhead bins, and quiet cabin.

“The aircraft’s exceptional performance, size, and efficiency make it the perfect choice for the future growth of our scheduled service network. The airline industry in the United States is evolving, and the E2 fits perfectly with our vision for Avelo’s unique role in that evolution.”

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation said, “The E195?E2 is a game?changer for airlines that want to grow profitably while elevating the guest experience. Avelo complements its narrowbody fleet with the best-in-class E195-E2.  Its exceptional fuel efficiency, quiet operations, and short?field capability will unlock new markets and optimize capacity across its network - all with a cabin that passengers truly love.”
