Enstrom Delivers Three Helos To Mexico

State Of Guerrero To Use Two For Police Ops

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation tells ANN it delivered three new 480B turbine helicopters to Mexico earlier this month.

Enstrom's newest international dealer, Aerolineas Ejecutivas S.A. de C.V (ALE), took delivery of the first aircraft for use in commercial operations and as a demonstrator. The other two 480Bs went to ALE's first Enstrom customer, the State of Guerrero, where the turbine powered aircraft will be used for law enforcement purposes.

Both helicopters are equipped with Sprectrolab SX-16 searchlights, NAT public address systems, Garmin GNS 530 GPS/COM's, and Bose headsets. Enstrom provided transition training for two Mexican pilots at the factory, and then sent a pilot to accompany the aircraft on their ferry flights. All three aircraft were flown from the frigid northern Michigan factory to the hot and high mountains of Toluca, Mexico near Mexico City.

"The Enstrom line has been a good option for us to offer," said Jorge Garagarza of ALE. "Many of our customers are looking to get into helicopters for the first time, or are looking for a lower cost helicopter. Enstrom fits the market perfectly. We see a lot of potential here."

Garagarza then added ALE has already sold a fourth 480B for an aerial filming application, and a number of new opportunities are on the table.

According to Enstrom's Director of Sales and Marketing, Tracy Biegler, the recent deliveries are another step in Enstrom's continued push into the law enforcement market. "With over 25 Guardians (law enforcement version of the 480B) delivered, and more prospects on the horizon, this market is really taking off. When you add up the numbers, the 480B is just a great law enforcement helicopter, and people are finally realizing it."

With a number of 480B/Guardian sales pending around the world, Enstrom is confident that the market will be strong for years to come.
