Airways Aviation Opens New Pilot Foundation School in Iraq

Will Be Located Near The University Of Baghdad

Aviation educator Airways Aviation is opening its latest Aviation Theory School in Baghdad later this month, paving the way for aspiring Iraqi pilots to launch their flying careers.

The new Iraqi school, equipped with modern teaching facilities including a flight simulator, is located in the education precinct close to the University of Baghdad and will offer several courses developed by Airways Aviation in collaboration with the aviation industry to equip prospective students to take their first steps towards becoming a pilot.

Airways Aviation provides industry access, pathways and opportunities to undertake complete flight training within the one organisation; progressing from introductory aviation theory to qualifying as a commercial airline pilot. Airways Aviation also offers advanced flight training and European and Australian license conversions.

Students at Airways Aviation build an important bank of knowledge and develop the skills, confidence and understanding required to progress to full flight training in modern training aircraft at one of the Airways Aviation Pilot Training Academies in Europe or Australia.

Initially, there will be two courses on offer in Iraq that are targeted to school leavers and career changers with no previous flying or aviation experience or knowledge. All courses will be delivered by qualified teachers and instructors.

The Introduction to Aviation Course is a one-day workshop that provides an interactive introduction to the world of flying and the Aviation Foundation Course, delivered over eight weeks provides the fundamentals of aviation across 15 areas of disciplines including Aviation English, Aerodynamics, Navigation, Human Performance and Air Law.

There will also be a third specialised Aviation English Course to be introduced in the not too distant future designed to support individual private students and specific industry requirements.

With more than 1,000 alumni and the capacity to train hundreds of airline pilot cadets annually from it's strategically positioned, certified and accredited training bases, Airways Aviation continues to cement its reputation as a global industry leader.

The Global CEO of Airways Aviation Global, Romy Hawatt, said "The decision to open this new education facility in Iraq was a carefully considered and strategic one. We believe we understand the local industry and territorial demands for increased volume and frequency of airline traffic and services - and we are committed to helping to meet that demand by providing the highest standard of education and training."

The new Aviation Theory School in Baghdad demonstrates the company's commitment to help Iraqi students develop new career opportunities. The company's presence will likewise help Iraq to compete in the region
