AD: DG Flugzeugbau GmbH Gliders

AD NUMBER: 2013-22-12

PRODUCT: All DG Flugzeugbau GmbH Models DG-800A, DG-800B, DG-500MB gliders.
SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2013-22-12
ACTION: Final Rule, Request for Comments.

SUMMARY:  This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.

The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as a defective starter motor control unit, which could activate the starter motor without pressing the starter button. The FAA is issuing this AD to require actions to address the unsafe condition on these products.

DATES: This AD is effective November 18, 2013. Comments on this AD must be received by December 23, 2013.
