Funkily Shaped Lilium Jet Needs Specialized Glassware
Saint-Gobain aerospace has been announced as the supplier of choice for Lilium's windscreen and windshield needs.
The agreement "follows extensive collaboration" between the two as they look to "leverage advanced solutions to meet the highest aircraft safety requirements and deliver an unparalleled experience for the Lilium Jet’s passengers". The upcoming aircraft will demand some pretty unique construction compared to commercial off-the-shelf aircraft parts, and Saint-Gobain seems happy to provide it.
The firm promises "lightweight construction and improved visibility enhancement, such as limiting icing and fogging phenomenon," falling in line with the greater Lilium aims of sustainable, affordable performance. Saint-Gobain promises additional development on their products, with long term aims at improving comfort, visibility, acoustic isolation, temperature, and light control.

"Our partnership is yet another step towards delivering unparalleled passengers experience while meeting the stringent safety and performance requirements of the aviation industry.”
