Diamond Successfully Completes First DA42NG Upgrade

Re-Powered Aircraft Will Fly For Spanish Flight School

Sounding a little bit like proud parents ... Diamond Aircraft has announced the successful completion of the first Upgrade DA42 New Generation for the Spanish Flight School Academy CESDA.

During the program the two TAE diesel engines were swapped for two new diesel Austro Engines (AE300). Other necessary adaptations were performed in order to change the aircraft to a New Generation aircraft.

As part of the program, Diamond Aircraft not only offers the exchange of used TAE engines to new diesel AE300 engines, but also to check the aircraft for all work necessary to bring it up to the latest technical specs. There is the opportunity to install new technical, avionic and interior options during the Upgrade Program.

Under the supervision of Günther Weinhart, Head of the Upgrade DA42NG Program, there are two other customers, Stapleford Flying Club Ltd and Halfpenny Green Flying Club at process in the moment, and new customers are making reservations for the program.

Now that the first one is complete, Diamond expects that upgrading future aircraft to "NG" should not take longer than two to four weeks.
