Bristow Offering Training Flights, Tours to Prospective Hires
Helicentre Aviation has announced an upcoming group of career days amid their expansion efforts, opening up employment opportunities for future aviators and existing pilots.
UK operator Helicentre is accepting applications for its partner, Bristow Helicopters, who are looking to expand their roster of qualified rotary pilots. The career days will be held on May 15th through the 17th, at Leicester Airport. Senior Bristow staff will be on hand to answer questions and address any concerns of applicants, as well as give them a peek behind the curtain to see if the company aligns with applicant's circumstances.
The first day will be open to all experience levels, with a seminar about the company's opportunities and a tour of the training premises on tap for new additions to the industry and old salts alike. Helicentre will offer a few introductory flying lessons to those who haven't flown a helicopter yet, though slots are limited, and early registration is advised. Day 2 will allow student helicopter pilots currently in training at Helicentre to learn more about Bristow and possible roles they can fill there, with the final day geared around presenting opportunities to previously licensed pilots.
Helicentre says it's eager to introduce future helo pilots to the offshore transport and SAR pipeline, missions that are Bristow's bread and butter. "There is an ever-increasing shortage of suitably qualified helicopter pilots across the industry," Helicentre said, "and a lack of awareness surrounding the pathways into helicopter careers, despite the training sponsorships and scholarship initiatives both companies have invested heavily in for many years."
