Diamond DA62 Seven Seat Twin To Be On Display At NBAA 2015

Planemaker Says Aircraft Bridges The Gap Between High-Performance Piston Singles And Entry-Level Turboprops

Diamond Aircraft will have the seven-Seat DA62 Twin At NBAA 2015 Nov 17th – 19th. The all new Diamond Aircraft DA62 fills a gap in the market that ranges from high performance single pistons to entry level turboprops, according to the company.

With a cabin offering optional three row seven passenger seating, large payload and low fuel burn, Diamond says the DA62 is best described as a "flying SUV." It represents the ultimate development of Diamond’s piston aircraft line, incorporating decades of experience in certified composite airplane construction, safety, jet fuel piston powerplants and advanced avionics integration.

“The DA62 is so good on so many levels – space, performance, efficiency, luxury, comfort – it’s a great package," said said Peter Maurer, President & CEO of Diamond Aircraft Industries Inc. (Canada). "High performance single piston pilots needing more seats and utility are ideal prospective customers, as are charter operators and corporate flight departments looking to complement their larger aircraft with a low cost alternative for shorter trips.”

“This aircraft has the potential to change the way people think about modern personal air travel”,  said John Armstrong Founder & CEO of LifeStyle Aviation. “We are particularly pleased to bring the DA42-VI and the DA62 to our popular DiamondShare program to create broad access to these modern aircraft. We look forward to assisting clients to evaluate this game changing aircraft.”

The DA62 is equipped with a Garmin G1000 flight deck with standard 3-axis GFC700 Automated Flight Control System and yaw damper, and is available with integrated weather radar. Combined with simple single lever power controls, the company says the airplane offers great control, situational awareness and a comfortable pilot workload.

The all-carbon composite airframe incorporates advanced aerodynamics with the latest in passive safety technology for high performance, great efficiency and superior occupant protection. Further enhancing the dynamic and elegant lines, are the unlimited choices of available colors and paint designs.

The Diamond DA62’s AE330 180 hp engines are a refinement of the well proven AE300 170 hp engine, in service in Diamond’s DA40 and DA42 since 2009. With over 1,200 engines in service and a total fleet time of over 600,000 hrs, the AE300 has proven itself to be reliable, efficient and is fully supported in North America. The AE330 offers the same low specific fuel consumption, with the DA62’s twin engines burning as little as 11.8 gph of jet fuel, combined, at a cruise speed of 160 ktas and less than 18 gph at a high cruise speed of over 190 ktas.

A limited number of DA62’s will be available for US delivery, commencing February 2016. The DA62, on display at NBAA in Las Vegas from November 17 to 19th will be available for demonstration flights following the show. Demonstration tour schedules throughout the US, will be announced shortly.
