Organizers Pull The Plug On Denton, TX Airshow

Placed On Hiatus For 2017, May Return In The Future

The Denton, TX Air Show has been placed on hiatus for 2017, but organizers say they are confident it will return in the future.

The Denton Record-Chronicle report that there were multiple reasons to cancel the 2017 event, including outstanding bill that remain from the 2016 Denton Air Fair.

But marketing director Amanda Addington said that the primary reason for the cancellation for 2017 is road construction that is making it difficult to get to Denton Enterprise Airport (KDTO). Addington said that the airport will "see case by case where the construction is and where we can go going forward. There is a myriad of reasons for not having the air show this year."

KDTO said that it will continue to work with Denton Air Fair on other events, such as the periodic display of WWII aircraft put on by the Collings Foundation.
