Recreational Aviation Foundation Announces 2017 Photo Contest

Winners Will Have Their Photos Used For Greeting Cards ... With Photo Credit

The Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) has announced an expanded photo contest for 2017, encouraging entries from all over the country.

The RAF has split the nation into five regions for the contest, with a winner to be selected from each region. If your photo is selected, your airplane could appear on the popular RAF greeting cards! We use these cards as “Thank-you” notes to our thousands of donors and supporters. The RAF encourages members to show your airplane out enjoying a recreational airstrip. Winners will receive a pack of high quality RAF greeting cards with their image on the front, just in time for the holidays.

The contest is open now and will be accepting entries through November 1, 2017, so time is critical. It is open to any RAF member: adults, children, amateurs and professionals alike.

Photos with airplanes and great scenery are the most desirable. Email high resolution digital photos in JPEG, .jpg, or png. format to: schandler@theraf.org by 5pm EST November 1, 2017. Submissions must include:

  • Your name, (photographer’s name if different from yours)
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Location of photo (airstrip and state)
  • Please identify any faces in the image, and obtain permission from them for this use.
  • Limit of 5 images per person, please send only your best.
  • Region- (winners for each region will be based on where the photo is taken not the photographer's home state)

Entries will be judged by the volunteers who write and send all the RAF thank you cards. They will only have access to the photos; the photographer will remain anonymous during the judging.

Judges will select a winner in each region. Each will receive a package of high quality greeting cards with their photo on the front; and their photo credit on the back. Winners will be announced November 16.
